I finally have a less-old car. To the surprise of approximately no-one, it's another slightly worn Saab 9K. However, this one has a full-pressure turbo. And, as pointed out by Mark13 on the FB, does indeed have some quite interesting turbo-lag when the box doesn't kick down quite as smartly as one might hope.
On the other hand, auto, leather, aircon, GSOH, etc. And cost less than the insurance gave me for the other one, even when including the increase in my insurance.
Result!
Downside - booted rather than hatch, so will have to buy a folding bike. Oh no what a personal disaster. Also much less use for hauling a set of Spög shelves from Pikea. Oh no what a personal disaster.
