Neat!
Relena and I finally did go to the Nutcracker, and it was very pretty.
Pretty music, pretty costumes, very pretty.
BUT THEY MESSED UP THE STORY! There was absolutely NO mention of Princess Pirlipat or Madam Mouserinks! Even Drosselmeir only appeared for a little bit, and he was such a big part of the story, since it was his fault Hans got turned into the Nutcracker in the first place!
ALSO:
HER NAME IS NOT CLARA, IT IS MARIE. CLARA IS THE NAME OF HER DOLL.
:/ I am cross.
I guess it would be pretty hard to do all the castle scenes in a way that makes sense (there was a lot of talking and explaining in those parts, with all the prophecies and curses), but everything seemed so flattened out story-wise.
The music was GORGEOUS, though. @_@
Actually, everything was gorgeous, especially the gigantic Christmas tree. <3
Turns out the battle between the mice and the toy soldiers was choreographed by somebody other than M. Adrienne. He did a good job.
I believed it.
Anyway, Princess and I are going to Swan Lake tonight and then Sleeping Beauty on Friday since we missed the first one. :P I told her to rope the boys into going, but she just giggled at me and said they'd be too busy. WE'RE busy ourselves- sometimes I have to force her to put down the phone in between acts, but she deserves the rest after all the craziness of last month.
You guys oughta see how happy all this non-stop ballet makes her. It's really cute.
