green and purple sari regency

I used all but some very small, wacko scraps of the sari, and the wide border. I wasn't sure what to do with it, so it's in a box now, waiting for Its Moment To Shine.  I even managed to cut out all the pieces going in the same direction! It's not like it would really be obvious if they weren't, but I was determined to try and, by golly, I did it!

The bottom of the dress is two rows of the side border.

I was going to do one but it wasn't enough. I altered the back neckline and the shoulder straps to allow me to have border straight across them without any silly easing business, because Ew! I made the shoulder strap just wide enough to allow the border to go on, although of course there are some corners at the ends that are a bit wider. The sleeve band is the middle of the border motif - it's a teeny bit wider than I like, but anything else was too narrow, so that's what I used!

I already posted about the drawstring in the top of the bib, which I have found quite useful in my other bib-front. I have decided not to bother putting any closures on, so that it's got the maximum amount of adjustability. My dark blue bib-front barely overlaps (because I didn't know what I was doing)  so the openings gap, and I made *very very sure* to have an adequate overlap on the skirt of this one. I could have made the front edges go a bit farther back, I suppose, but it's not necessary, so.....

I'm not a huge fan of the gathered-front look mixing with the border-look, but I'm way too lazy about fitting (and too paranoid about adjustability!) to want to make the front NOT gathered, so too bad for me. It's not super-gathered, at least.

The lower sleeves I cut from a fabric I got intending to make a very early Regency dress out of, round gown style, and I had enough I felt comfortable hacking off half a yard for sleeves.  I do need to rotate them toward the back 2 or 3 inches, because the seams kept creeping up to the top of my hands, which makes me twitchy. I don't want to LOOK at the seams!

The chemisette I made last winter some time for....something? Probably Allaire in February. I really need to put a hook and eye on it, because pinning something at that angle in that place is HARD.  I also meant to paint my new lacing flats to match, but perhaps it's best I didn't get to it, because they say they're not that comfy and rub blisters if one walks much in them. I almost certainly would have gotten blisters had I worn them! Boots were more appropriate anyway, and for cheap boots they're really quite comfy.

Robin kindly lent me her blue bonnet (this is what, the third time?), because I was a doofus and forgot about the straw bonnet I made for Riverdale years ago. I reused the reticule I made to match my Allaire dance dress, and halfway through the woods the strands binding the tassel completely unwound themselves! I guess I need to acquire new tassels sooner rather than later.
