Regency stays: Done

I finally finished my Regency stays

- and I'm very glad I didn't put them in the finish'em later pile, because they fit much better than either of the Elizabethan stays! The straps could be narrower, and my gussets aren't all the same size (because first I made new front pieces with larger gussets as the pattern-fronts were too small, and then ended up taking in the gussets after all, first one on each side, and then other two, hence the unevenness), but I think they provide a suitable amount of lift. I think. I dunno. I even was easily able to machine sew right across my boning, because I used zip ties... I even dared to backstitch with my power-challenged machine! Oooooooh!
Only thing that really bothered me was the bias tape I used to bind them. I didn't want to bother cutting my own bias, but I really should have. The Wright's bias tape I got was nowhere near on the biasy bias; of two packages, one is practically cut on the straight grain, and the other is at maybe a 15 degree angle. It's very hard to get a smooth curve with straight-grain binding! Grrr.
