This wig, you guys. I just can't.

So it's the Lioness wig (of great reknown) and I wore it previously for hedgehog purposes. It got more and more frazzled throughout the day on which I wore it, and then was stuffed in a bag, so it's pretty unhappy looking (if a Lioness wig could ever be said to look happy, which is doubtful). I fixed up the long traily curls, but the rest of it....looks awful on me. I pinned up the fluff a bit so it's not so EXPLOSIVELY HUGE, but it doesn't seem to help? Looking at it objectively it seems like it's about the right shape and so on, but on me I hate it. It's either that the curls as they are just aren't quite right for a hedgehog, or that they just don't look good on my face. But either way I'm seriously stressed by this mofo because I don't even know how to hair, so having it be so recalcitrant is extra annoying. Add to that that the cap is really small, and I have both a large head and a lot of hair, so..... I clipped the bands on the inside to try to make it bigger, but I don't know how much good that will actually do. I've had my first stress dream about this wig. It's bad.

My second option is to not wear my 1790 redingote and wear a 70s anglaise instead. I can do a low pouf on myself. Nothing special or high, and my hair doesn't DO buckles, but I can plop my organza cap over it and it'll be passable. But then I'd have to do a different style of hat, so I need to pick which outfit so I can make the hat to match! I did want to wear the redingote, since it's only had one outing (and never got real closures, or a matching petticoat), but the wig is making me really, really angsty.

striped anglaise, angst, horrible wig, lavender 1790 redingote, hats
