Standardized Madness!
I have just registered and paid $130 for the privilege *snirk* of taking the GRE Literature in English subject test as is required by the Tufts grad program. From my next pay check I get to fork out another $130 to pay for the basic GRE test. I despise standardized testing, but I'm mildly more optimistic about and more afraid of the subject test. I think testing my knowledge of Lit. and Critical theory is a good thing but now I'm paranoid that I may not remember half of what I learned in college, or haven't studied what is being tested, or am just too dumb for grad school. Gah! Foolish intellectual insecurities will probably now plague me until the day of the test in December. But I will study! I will test! I will win! (or so I tell myself in the voice of Edna Mode) Then I will consume the test results.
