Inspired by YouTube

I always avoided YouTube because once i went on it i would be stuck for hours. and thats never a good thing when you are stuck in SMU with 10 million things to do. So anyway, now that im on holiday, i decided to revisit YouTube. I didnt know what to watch because i didnt have any leads from facebook or blogs so i just decided to search the thing that has been bugging me most since the track IVP ended in october.

"How to lose weight".

Not very creative but it worked. I stumbled across this girls channel where she would do weigh in's every week and update the channel on her weight loss progress. I viewed her second video, and then her 53rd and she lost 45 pounds!!! from 205 to 159. Im not sure what that is in kg which i can relate to but i know its a lot.

What i found particularly interesting was her #77 weigh in video which talked about her doing a 21-day challenge. Basically, a habit is formed or broken in 21 days, so if you do something or stop doing something for those 3 weeks, you form or break a habit.

I know i do not weigh anywhere close to 205 pounds, but im going to give it a go anyway because im very verrryyyyYEerfhwfrh dissatisfied with the weight i put back on after working so hard to lose it all. I put on 3kg since november and i really want to get rid of it. Since i have so much time i will blog an entry to update every now and then about my 21-day challenge's progress. ill set 2 goals.

The first will be to exercise daily.

The second will be to wake up by 830am everyday.

It'll be great for me because my exercise has been so irregular lately. some weeks i can run hard for 4 days in a row and then the next week i dont exercise at all. by saying "exercise daily" i mean to just go for at least a slow jog around my area. doesnt have to be too hard every day to keep it realistic.

As for my second goal, i have been waking up way too late these past few days!!! Initially i loved the fact that i could sleep in after so long because school was mad and i needed a breather. the past week has been awesomely fun with lots of late nights. after heading out last night i woke up at noon today. which is okay if i didnt go back to sleep at 2pm and wake up at 8pm hahaha.

Now that ive done that for a week im getting restless. this singaporean busy-always mentality is really becoming engrained in me. I've decided to get back into routine at start waking up early again. So that shall be goal #2.

Monday will mark the start of the 21-day challenge! I hope this will make me lighter, fitter and more productive. Will keep this place posted :) let me know if you want to join me with the same or other goals!
