Back to School (shopping list part II)
The following list is the bare minimum IMHO! It's assuming you have a washer/dryer in your crib (which I don't) and/or some things might still fit. But with my limited finances, I'd have to make do with this until I start working!
I've keep stalking the sites so far, the prices have come down a little. I don't want to wait to the point that the selection is crappy!
I decided to go with a Transformers theme to DS school supplies...my friend Z thinks I'm nuts! She just doesn't get it because she doesn't have kids yet, LOL! Plus, I think she more of a practical person. There's nothing wrong with that. I'm just a creative soul and sometimes folks don't jive with that, kwim?
Kindergarten to grade three:
School Supplies
Glue sticks - 2
Clear tape - 1 roll
Plain, white printer paper - 1 every few months
Composition notebook - 1
Tissues - 1 large box
Pencils - 1 package (wide shafts are best)
Crayons - 1 box of 12
Markers - 1 small package of 6 or 8
Colored pencils - 1 package of 12
Lined paper - 1 package
Pencil case - 1
Backpack - 1 Transformers Backpack
Lunch bag - 1 (if child is in school at lunch time) Black w/Camo print bag from Old Navy
Clothing
Check your child’s closet to see what fits, what needs to be repaired, and what can be
handed down to a sibling. Your child will likely need:
Shoes (sneakers, leather, ballet flats etc) - 1 or 2 pair black canvas sneakers that matches DH's and a pair of cute preppy brown shoes.
Gym shoes with non-marking soles - 1 pair Transformers sneakers (It's a surprise for DS, sssh!)
Jeans - 2 or 3 (Gotta love Old Navy's 2 for $28 Jeans Sale! Regular Fit Jeans in Berry, Loose Fit Jeans in Dylan, and Distressed Painter Jeans in Hendrix)
Pants (eg. khakis) - 1 cargo khakis
Jacket - 1 Old Navy Military Jacket
Rain jacket -1
Rain boots - 1
Socks - 4 or 5 pairs
Underwear - 4 or 5
T-shirt or short-sleeved shirt - 4 or 5 (short sleeve polo, patterned t-shirt, 2 plain tees: Timber and Deep Navy.)
Long-sleeved shirt - 2 or 3 (so far got one l/s navy polo)
Sweater - 2 or 3 Maybe I'll pick up a Phat Farm or Akademics sweater in October. I know it's hoodie but the colors they use really work well for Sage's coloring!
Leggings/track pants - 2 or 3
Skirt/dress (if applicable) - 2 or 3
Tights (if applicable) - 1 or 2
