This was an interesting shabbos. My home health aide came earlier than her scheduled time to pick up the cash for the shabbos special from SR and other shabbos shopping.
In the meantime, I took my meds and rested. She got everything on my list and got a corkscrew because she noticed I didn't have one.
OY!
She swept and mopped the kitchen floor.
Filled the hot water urn.
Gave the countertop and sink a good cleaning.
Made me lunch.
Helped me set up the chicken and kugel in the baking pyrex to be warmed.
I arranged the gefilte fish and opened the challah roll package.
I went down the street and bought

and yes that's me in my Nick and Nora Sock Monkey PJ's...DH thinks they look like a professional arrangement. I don't know about all that. I was just relaxed and had fun.
I even got to rest for an hour before I picked up Sage.
I laid out the tablecloth and I had Sage set the table w/ minimum back-talk.
I lit the shabbos on time and in a peaceful mood...
Until DH called me to let me know that he took the wrong bus and is waiting at NWK airport. I swear that man should not be allowed to take public transportation...j/k!
I had a very restful shabbos...my new meds seem to be working very well! No seizures so far this weekend. I went to the women's shuir. It was ok. I was bored out of my mind and it was a bit far for me to walk. I was very tight-lipped again.
I got invited to a shabbos meal by one of the women. She said she was busy with finals but now that they're over she had some breathing room. I told her maybe after New Years... my b-day is next weekend so I planning to spend awhile in Brooklyn because I'm terribly homesick! She looked a little hurt that I'm not feeling the community yet. What does she expect?
Perhaps I'm just not classy enough?
When you're really sick and miserable all you want is your mommy, kwim?
All and all a good shabbos!
Motzai Shabbos we made a run to IKEA and Jersey Gardens. I bought a
garment rack and an
ironing organizer from Bed Bath & Beyond!. I whipped out my 20% off my entire purchase coupon and I was in business!
Then I went to IKEA and bought me a
Billy bookcase in the black/white pattern. So mod, so fun!
DH got into to it but I'm not going there now... too intense and weird! I'm may not post about it for Shalom Bayit sake. Then again...
