Those who say there is no such thing as true romance
At such a young age is mistaken
She wears her heart on her sleeve
Proud of everything she’s done and said
And it brings a smile to his face
True romance does exist in this case
They complete each others sentences
Some call that cliché and other call it cute
He doesn’t know how much he means to her
She’s tries to tell him but she can’t find the right words
And when she does he’s not listening
She’s found her everything
His smile makes her smile
His heartbeat makes hers race
His laugh makes her laugh
His eyes make her melt
His embrace makes her feel safe

She still feels as though she has to leave
He doesn’t see that the littlest things break her heart
She’s grown up with a not so picture perfect life
And gave up on love once already
And the little things that go wrong she fears the most
The last thing she wants to do his see him walk away
From everything they have

With a broken road behind her
She’s afraid to turn back
And now there’s a fork in the road
One way leading to him
And the other leading to a dead end
