This past weekend was probably one of the best weekends i've had all year. I toured the circuit down in Maryland and got to visit 3 of my close friends down there, which was awesome, cause i don't get to see them very often. I spent most of the weekend outside of washington DC with one of my best friends. Friday night we ate some panera, hung out, goofed off and caught up on old times. It was really fun. We also watched Trainspotting, which i thought i would really like, but after seeing it, i don't think i would reccomend it to anyone, unless they enjoy being horrified and depressed at how low people can go. Other then that though, it was a great night. He took me around washington on saturday to the smithsonian and all the monuments and we walked around alot cause it was a gorgeous day. Then in the evening we hit up Longhorn steakhouse for some of the best food i've ever tasted (then again, food always tastes better when you have a lil alcohol in you). I also learned (the hard way) that Irish coffee is made with whiskey, not Baileys... blech. silly me. Saturday was another awesome day. Sunday, we lazed around and slept in and then hit up IHOP for some yummy breakfast. The only thing, was that there was hair in my silverware wrap and lipstick marks on my water glass, but it worked out cause the food was good and they took money off our bill. :) After that, and a slight mishap about his car... hehe... we decided to drive around his area and see what there was to see. We went to this nice park with a gorgeous lake that kinda reminded me of Marsh Creek, cept bigger and nicer. Then we drove around more and saw the maryland countryside (both the nice parts and the hillbilly parts). After a lovely drive, we headed home, and cooked up some dinner (i love a man that can cook!) ;) It was a great time and i was very sad to leave, but at the same time, I am happy that i have such a good friend that i can be myself around. :) So thank you.
The rest of the weekend was also good, but it went by alot faster. From DC i headed north to pasadena and spent the night at my fellow Tigger's house. I always enjoy seeing him, as he can made me laugh until my sides are sore, and then i'm still laughing. We watched cartoons and ate carrot cake late into the night (for those of you obsessed with the "Emperor's New Groove" I would highly reccommend the newly released sequel, "Kronk's New groove" ... don't cry for me Marge and Tina... teeheehee). Next morning we talked for a while, ate more carrot cake for breakfast and then i headed out to Odenton to visit my soldier boy, Alan, who's about to be shipped away for a year. (so sad!) I finally got to see where he lived and see his family again which was nice. We stuffed ourselves on chinese food for lunch, then watched "Flight Plan", looked at lots of army pictures, and then took a walk through the woods near a pond by his house, observing the local beaver evidence, which was nifty. After that, it was dinner time with the family, then i headed on home so i could get back in time for my cousin's 34th birthday party. yay!
So all in all, it was a fabulous weekend. I had so much fun seeing my friends and I miss them already. I wish they could live closer so i could see them more often, but alas. It was still fun to get out and explore a new state with my good friends. So anyways, this is a very happy Katrina, signing off, until next week- when I go to Hawaii..... woohoo!!!! :)
