Cheers, Paul! :-) It's good to *be* back.

Considering it was my first ground-up build, I was surprised at just how simple it was (the, er, power cable issue aside!). I learnt a great deal very quickly, and it's given me the confidence to deal with this sort of thing myself again in the future. I know what you mean, though: until I realised what the problem was, I was going a bit Basil Fawlty. Another day or two and I'd probably have been thrashing the PC with a branch and yelling at it... ;-)

I've been building my own for the last dozen or more years. Up to about 2002 I loved it, but now it has become a pain, and any upgrades or repairs are done only if absolutely necessary!
