Maddening Things:
-The sound of 41 computers.
-15+ students all clearing their throughts at once.
-The quiet murmer of people you cannot seem to find.
-Being locked in a very small, very cold room with thousands of magazines and being forced to organize them all.
-Latin teachers explaining things in a language very much like English but so -English that you don't understand.
-Drawing eyeballs on your folders, the feeling that your homework is glaring at you.
-When you are trying to write and the pages stare back at you blankly.
-Trying to draw lifelike people on dead tree pulp.
-Eating chicken reminds me of eating people -- but I've never eaten people, so how do I know?
-The sound of the library's door opening & closing over and over again.
I've decided that only insane people come into the library of their own free will. None of the poeple that come in here are ever people that I know, and they're all ing nuts. They mutter strange chants to the computers, trying to make them work, while the computers chatter back to them like angry squirrels. It was a little perturbing to realize that I did the same thing to my Latin home work no more than ten minutes ago... The other strange library people must think I'm a little odd -- I don't talk to anyone but the computer, I type without looking at the screen, let alone the keyboard, I actually get along with the librarians (usually), but last but not least I usually end up staring blankly at the screen saver. You see, I'm actually trying to download it into my brain so that when I start ignoring people the Pipe Dream screansaver will broadcast on my eyes.
I hope that staring into the computer screen for an hour and a half every morning doesn't hurt my eyes. Hmmm, real people have just entered the library... Perhaps that is my cue. ^.~ Physics is next.
