Well i thought about it for a while and i came to the conclusion that there really isn't an exact reason for O'brien to write this book. Sure, mabey he wanted to tell the people about the vietnam war, or maybe he wanted to relive it or something. (YEAH RIGHT!!!) But he could have just been writing it because he needed money so he decided to write some books, I don't know. Going off on a limb here... maybe someone is forcing him to write these books and they are holding a gun to his head while he writes it. YOU JUST NEVER KNOW!!!!! Anyways the point is that O'brien doesn't NEED a reason to be writing this book. He might just be doing it for fun.
