So yeah. Updating just . . . well, because. I already wrote on Xanga and I'm still bored.
Yesterday was one year for me and Jordan. As we are poor, we just went
to the 4th of July parade and used his 50% discount at Sagebrush for
lunch. I had an *awesome* buffalo chicken sandwich. Jordan ignored my
nagging about how he needs to cut back on red meat. Silly boy.
So life's good . . . I think the reason I don't get homesick down here
is because there are a lot of hicks to remind me of Ohio . . . but
there are lots of hippies/artsy people/earthy folk here that I really
enjoy. I've gotten in the habit of stopping by the bead shop at least
once a week just to chat with the owner. Jordan and I have been talking
about opening up a hookah bar on King Street, but it'll be a year or so
before we really put that plan into action. Jordan REALLY wants to open
up his own guitar store (Boone lacks a really GOOD guitar, etc. store)
and I think that would go over really well up in the King Street area.
He wants to call it, "Beatbags, Gitfiddles, and Thumpwoods" and I want
my hookah bar/headshop/coffeeshop to be called "Denise's Pieces." It'd
be so cute. Starting your own business is a HUGE project, though . . .
This winter I'm taking glassblowing classes in Winston-Salem! EXCITING!
Then I have to save up money for my own equipment . . . a torch, a
kiln, the glass color . . . but once I have a setup, then I can blow my
own glass stuff to sell in my store.
Until THEN, I'm going to get a new sewing machine . . . if I can't wait
til we get to Ohio (which has been pushed back to the second week of
August because of Jordan's work sched - I hope
quean_of_swords
will still be at Cedar Point then . . . I haven't seen you since when .
. . three years ago?! Oh my . . . we're getting old!) But we MIGHT make
it closer to the beginning. Not sure. However, we might also time it so
on our way back down we can catch the Steve Miller Band concert in
Cincinatti - they're not going to be anywhere near here on his tour,
unfortunately. ANYWAY - the sewing machine. I'm going to get my old
one, or a new one, and start making hippie clothes to sell on eBay and
at music festivals . . . you can make a huge profit on that kind of
stuff . . . and also sell hemp and other handmade jewelry.
Jordan DID get a couple of days off at the end of July, though, so we could go to Bele Chere - www.belechere.com - fun times.
I'm thinking about making my own wedding dress. Tea-length, some
embroidery, pixie hem, strapless. That way I can make exactly what I
want and not have to settle.
Anywho, enough rambling from me. Peace and love to everyone. <3
