ok well here's a brief description of mexico. when we first got there i was surprised by the disorderly driving in tiajuana. oh, and they spell it tijuana. so we [americans] both say and spell it wrong. anyway, i saw dudes being loaded into mexican 'policia' vans, a lady on a balcony making tinata's, broken down buildings, shops, and what southern california looked like before we started to pumping water there from oregon and the colorado river; it was a desert. the mexican people i met were all really nice and courteous, except for when i wandered around the ghetto, then everyone was trying to sell me weed, drugs, and whores. driving was chaos but not as bad as thailand, however the street vendors were just as persistant and unwilling to take no for an answer. in any case, i got some cool suveniers for myself and others. my average day outside on ensanada consisted of a few hours of swimming, a few hours of basketball, and a hell of a lot of relaxing in the shade listening to the water. the beach is so awesome. it's been a big part of my life since i was a kid and i remembered that when i was in mexico. i met a lot of cool people and i'll surely be going back next year. i watched the sun go down each night, it sunk into the ocean and made the skyline glow orange, it was too cool. oh and the food, goddamn, so so so good. i ate burritos every day and made bowl after bowl of guacamole cause the avocados were cheap as fuck and massive. i don't know what everyone was talking about as far as cheap mexican beer goes. tequila was cheap [and good! the only time i ever actually liked the taste of tequila!!!!] but beer was more expensive than here. they have a really strict deposit system so if you want to have beer, you have to recycle the bottles. a good idea, but it sucks when you're on a budget. i did get a good tan though. my mom said all my skin is really dark and it makes me look like a different person. i think that's weird, but oh well. i don't mind a tan. guaranteed it'll be gone by the end of summer though and i'll have a nice fat farmer tan again from working outside. oh, and get this, when we left for san fransisco from oregon on the way to mexico it was ten at night, so i was walking around in my house slippers. not thinking, i packed our bags, hopped in the car, and we were off. we made it to berkely at 4 am and i realized i had no shoes, so the week i was in mexico i went shoeless. i was down with the mexican thing while i was there. aah fuck i'll just post pictuers later. i was gonna do it but i can't find the cable to transfer pictues, i think it's in my mom's bag or something in berkeley. i'll have it sunday though. when the week in mexico was over, i was sad, but ready to go back home for a number of reasons. we went back over the border [and i snuck a bag of m-80's!!!] and then stayed the night in los angeles. got up, spent the day in hollywood, then drove to san fransisco, the left there around 10 and back to oregon. jake and i got here about 6 am today and i still haven't slept for over 24 hours so i'm kinda tired, but more than likely expected to show up with the west medford fuckers tonight, so i probably will. but tomorrow i'm out for a long fucking time, sleeping in hardcore. anyway, that's about as brief of a description of mexico as i can give!!!
