Doctor/Rose versus Ten/Martha. Under the cut because it's utter nonsense and was written solely to drag me out of my emo and kick me into believing in my ship again. Sometimes I need to remind myself of this stuff, when I read articles about bed-sharing or the Doctor invites yet another person along.

I kept forgetting that just because he's moving on doesn't mean he's forgetting about Rose. - Mm, it's hard, because those are the moments when we think about her most, too, so it only seems natural that the Doctor would. Ugh. It'll always be hard. I think poor Martha got the raw deal, being the very next companion.
Ha, I have such issues with GitF, too. I honestly believe that was *such* weak script writing, character-wise, which will probably get me thrown out of the fandom for blasphemy, because obviously the wonderful Moffat can do no wrong. I just don't think that the Doctor would do that without some way of getting back, though. And it's not just that. He left them to die, he really did, and if there was some sort of Emergency Programme One again, it really should have been mentioned.
Oh, now I'm rambling =P Don't get me started on that episode. I usually just like to pretend it didn't happen.
Anyway, I definitely agree that nobody can adequately dispute the fact that the Doctor and Rose loved each other. - I think that, and then I wonder if the Martha shippers think the same and I'm just being as blinkered as those who insist the Doctor never loved Rose. But at the end of the day it doesn't matter, because this show is so emo at the moment that we all need to get our happiness from it from SOMEWHERE, and, if, for some people, that is Ten/Martha shipping, so be it. We all know RTD intended Rose/Doctor as a love story, and that's good enough for me, regardless of what happens with any future companions =) Because you're right - moving on does not necessarily equal forgetting, and nor does it devalue what they had.
