Last of the Time Lords (DW S3 spoilers, obv.)

You know, this could have been so damn epic, but RTD just didn't pull it together right.

For starters, that drumming wasn't properly explained. For something that has become - at least within my group of friends - such a motif of the show (I keep finding people drumming out that tune), it has no real substance behind it. Ugh. Such a wonderfully ( Read more... )

Just.. a small note here... about Lucy.

I got the feeling that she killed him because he wanted it. I also would have been absolutely appalled at the idea of the Master (being amazing in that John Simm-y, hilariously/sadistically evil way) being catered around the TARDIS like a pet. I'd say she knew from the moment he said "So you're just going to... keep me?" I think Lucy honestly loved him, and despite me absolutely loving her at the end of Sound of Drums (dancing while the world came to an end), I felt it was kind of a fitting ending. The Master totally won at the end. And it was a grand exit.

I'm also glad that Martha left in the accepting fashion. I'm so very glad she left that way and not in some annoyed pining away for him way. I really really didn't like the one-sided thing in this series, so much that I only watched about half of Season 3. I'll probably go back in the future sometime, but for now... just... blech. To be honest, I'm getting kind of sick of every person falling for the Doctor in some way shape or form. I understand that he'd that kind of guy, the guy who saves your life and you love him for, but is this science fiction or what? The whole Doctor/Martha thing was just kind of annoying to me, because while I did like Martha to a certain extent (I LOVED the IDEA of her, to be honest) the whole "Oh woe is me" thing didn't sit too well. I'm still pretty miffed about Reinette, although I don't know where everyone is getting the whole pompous thing from. I like Reinette. I didn't like pointless-kissing-falling-in-love-after-10-minutes-of-meeting-her.

I loved Donna, she was outrageous and funny, and if she comes back for Season 4 (as is the rumor), I might actually watch all the episodes this time around. Because with Donna there, I don't think there will be one-sided romance (and if he kisses anyone in the Voyage of the Damned I WILL roll my eyes and chuck my screen out my window), it will be funny, happy and from my point of view, Season 4 has a lot of potential. And I think we all know that if Donna falls for the Doctor then even non-shippers will be rolling their eyes and just... ugh. The reason I got excited for Season 3 was that it seemed more of action. You know, explosions and running and being funny. Then it just kind of flopped over onto it's back like a turtle and never got up again. Except for Human Nature/Family of Blood. Which I think I only liked for the fab DT acting in it.

Well this short note just turned into a big whopping note so I'm just go over there and shut up.
