It's been a long day.
Earlier this week, I started working out again. The plan was for a half hour of cardio (on an eliptical) three times a week, after work. That has since changed to 30 minutes of cardio five times a week before work. Tuesday was the first day for the original plan, and yesterday was the first of the revised plan. So far it seems to be going well, though I'll probably need to make a habit of going to bed a bit earlier to make up for getting up earlier.
On the negative side, work's been a bit of a pain lately. For the most part it's alright, but I'm having issues with my boss. He's quite the micromanager/control freak. A couple weeks ago, I was given the option to move to the new office we're opening in Buckhead by our Southeast Regional President, provided my boss and our local office manager okayed it. The office manager was fine with it, but when I asked my boss, he shot me down. Nevermind that I'm spending about $250/month on gas to get to/from work, he wanted to keep me where he had better control of me. Furthermore, and this is the real kicker, when I mentioned it to him, he acted as though no one had discussed this with him, which he was pretty pissed about. After the fact, I learned that our HR director brought it up to him a while ago and let him know I'd be approaching him about it.
Anyway, that's the most recent episode in a long saga with my boss. He's pissed off just about every partner in our office, as well as our HR director, and who knows who else. He's due to retire soon-ish, I just hope it's sooner rather than later.
In other news,
neophobic finally has a car. We got a 2003 Ford Focus for her, and I think it's going to be a great first car for her. It needs some work (brakes mainly), but it has a lot of promise.
As for what the future holds, I'm going to see the Cubs take on the Braves next Wednesday with my dad. He's taking me as an early birthday present. It's a bit of an annual tradition, and with the Cubs leading the National League, it should be a fun game. We're also heading out to Hogs for Dogs, a fundraiser for the shelter where we volunteer, next weekend, which should be fun.
