Follow the link to a slideshow. There are not many of me, but this will show the group of people and exactly what we were doing. Got up to 3400 meters (about 11155 feet). Thats like over 2 miles!
you can speed up the show - by dragging a mouse over the photos you get a control.
http://www.hiboox.com/lang-fr/diaporama/iq19byd4wm46d16yj0f1ra6i2av4s3 It was the scariest fuckin' thing I have ever done in my life: Being more tired than I had ever been in the mountains and hanging off of a rock wall with about 3000 feet of air between me and the snow-covered ground. Tied up to two people that would have died with me if I fell.
The only time I ever said out loud on a mountain (1) Holy Shit ...might i add *three times*... and (2) What the FUCK am I doing on this mountain? .... And I said them with REAL feeling. Each of the few times the thought, "I am gonna DIE if I try to take that next step," I batted the thought away with a stick, acted like the thought had never existed, and took the next step. Ahhhhh the adrenaline.
Next year's goal - 4000 meters (13125 feet)
Long term goal - Everest 8844 meters (29,029 feet)

As a side note... It gives me shivers even to think of it... We were doing our preparation exercises on a glacier... I witnessed REAL SHOCKING SCARY EVIDENCE of global warming happening right before my eyes as little rivers of the glacier melted into a huge resevoir below. It was incredible to stand there an look at where the glacier stops now and where it did (about half a mile away) 10 years ago.
