ugghhh....just getting over being sick. i spent sunday through tuesday in bed with massive stomach failure. it was awful. but dave and i went to jazz fest on saturday and that totally rocked. we got there right after the gates opened (11:00), saw many awesome awesome musicians, and ate all kinds of yummy food like snowballs, mufalettas, seafood stuff mirliton (my favorite), and mandarin orange iced tea. we got to see the roots, james taylor, deacon john, ellis marsalis, buddy guy, and a couple of the mardi gras indian bands. for those of y'all not from here, or who haven't been to jazz fest, these are the most amazing cultural phenomenons ever. they're groups of african-americans, some of whom have native american ancestry, who create these amazing elaborate feathered and beaded costumes and play and sing a mixture of native american and african songs. they also have parades during jazz fest, where they walk around the whole racetrack and dance and sing and carry these huge decorated sticks. dave took tons of awesome pictures, we just haven't uploaded them yet. as soon as we do, i'll post it.
school is getting kind of stressful. i have three papers due next week. and then finals immediately afterwards. but then graduation :). yay!!!! and then off to athens to look for apartments. i'm so excited about next year...who's gonna come visit me??!!
