last weekend
friday, after work, i went to a clarinet recital for a graduate student at stony brook. i had to go for my classical music appreciation class, but it ended up being really enjoyable. i met a man named Loyd who is going to email me about more classical, folk, and ambient shows in suffolk. he goes to drum circles and stuff - he's neat. (he liked my screen name) then i went home and took a delicious shower and relaxed while jared was out working on the boat with grahm (they got a free 21 ft boat and have been spending a lot of time renevating it lately - it's great though cause i'm really excited to go sailing - i never really have before.) but anyway - then my mom called me cause my aunt cindy (dad's sis) got cancer and was at sb hospital so i went back up to the school to visit her. she was in great spirits. i know she'll be alright.
then on saturday i went to visit my grandparents (mom's rents) 'cause sunday was my grandpa's birthday. it was wonderful spending time with them - my grandma was having a really good day and they were telling me stories about when they first got married and when my aunts were kids. jared and i had grilled cheeses and went to bed early.
sunday, after church, jared went to work on the boat and i went to my parents' house to finish our taxes. later, we had graham over for dinner and the boys made steak with hickory chip smoke and i made carrots and mashed potatoes. that was great.
