Nap Love

*** wants to go to a movie tonight and I'm gonna see if he'll agree to Japonica beforehand. I really wanna see Zodiac, but he doesn't like creepy killer movies, so I bet it's a no go.

Life is so nice right now, and yesterday and today were perfect adgirl workdays. Amanda is in the city for less than 36 hours- she IM'd me this morning and asked me what I was doing for lunch. Work was v. slow today {all i had to do was put the info from my fabulous budget and staffing plan into a Word formatted estimate, and after that there was literally nothing for me to do}, so I told her to swing on over to SoHo at 12:30. We had lunch at Felix. The waiter was extra snottily French. I was so hungry I thought I was gonna pass out. After we ate we checked out this adorable boutique right around the corner from my office. I bought a very 70s vintage dress and a really adorable empire waist babydoll shirt/dress made out of soft, thin cotton jersey. By the time I got back upstairs the entire agency was in rabid party mode- yesterday it was announced that we'd been named the agency of record for a leading brand of beer. 80 million dollars worth of business. The party was catered by Dean and Deluca, and the beer company rolled a truck up to our front door and loaded in cases upon cases of product. In the morning each full-time staff members had found a cold chilled mini-keg on his or her desk. So, from 2pm on it was party time. I grabbed a beer, ate a plate of fruit and confirmed that I had to meet with the agency president on Monday to go over my estimate in order to present it to the client on Tuesday. At 3:30 I told the GM I was gonna head on home since my work was done and he told me, "Make sure you bill us for a full day. I don't play that [nickle and diming on the freelancers' hours] shit, and I think we're going to be working together for a long time." I said that was great to hear, "since [the brand we just won] is my favorite beer," which it is- at least as far as being the one brand of beer I know I can order anywhere in the world and know it'll taste good. It's the West Indian lager of choice, so I have a lot of experience drinking it. After I packed my stuff up to go it took me less than 30 minutes to get home. I took a bath, then went upstairs and took a nap on the fur rug. Now I'm gonna backtrack to the bathroom again to wash my hair and try and look cute for ***. I'm planning on wearing my new babydoll dress with boots and tights. Maybe I'll get adventurous and trim my hair. I just need to give myself a few more minutes to wake up a bit.

I'm reallllllly looking forward to hanging with *** tonight. We had such a good time last night- he told me while i was still at work that he wanted to see me, and I knew he was working on a retardo collateral project for a cable channel, so I figured he'd spent the day glued to his chair, so when I left work I stopped by Lucky Strike and got some food to take home. When I got off the train I had a text from him saying he was on his way to my house. He was waiting inside the gate when I got there. He stayed for 3 hours before he went back home to finish his freelance stuff. We just had such a good time together last night! It's just really nice to sit and talk with him sometimes. We talked about work stuff and I asked him what his philosophy on self-esteem is and we played with the cute, silly vinyl collectible toy he bought me for my birthday... I dunno- I just love spending time with him. If I can keep up this steady working/spending quality time with *** groove then this'll be an awesome Spring.

Peace.
