Well not necessarily. There are people that don't like changes like that and will stop watching, or boycott the show or whatever. But then again, even SG-1 lasted 2 additional years without O'Neill and that was a MAJOR casting change as well that people weren't too happy about. There are shows that can survive lots of cast changes (take ER for example, cause OMG are there even any original cast members left??), and then there are others that fans just can't stand and shows get the axe.
I actually hope it doesn't get cancelled, however much JM might deserve it happening. As someone whose watched the franchise from the beginning (starting with the movie), I think it would be sad to not have Stargate in some incarnation. Even if it is being run by a complete and utter moron. The Franchise has such a huge following, I'm optimistic it'll survive this. Even I'm willing to give it a chance, until such a time where it annoys me beyond what I can handle, then I'll stop watching. I will miss Torri though. Her character is probably one of, if not my favourite, from both series.
