finnstardust and
suzotchka1 your cards have arrived! Thanks girls! *hugs*
Now for my entertainment of the day so far. Walked past a movie set this morning. Homer Street by the Vancouver Public Library has been transformed into somewhere in the US, with yellow taxi cabs, signs that say things like "No horn blowing at any time except emergency", and cute little blue US postal mailboxes. I saw them yesterday setting up the fake light standards and green fencing, and they had the fake street signs sitting in the truck. Today I go by and it's so cool! American Flag and everything hanging from 'The Centre' (it's across from the VPL). And of course, I have no camera so can put up no pics because I never bring it with me even though I know I always should. When I walked by they hadn't blocked off the street, and you were still allowed to wander along the sidewalk right past it. So cool. I think it's for the movie "Personal Effects", they were shooting at the library last week as well and it looks like the same trucks etc. Maybe they'll be back tomorrow ... I think I might just bring my camera with me anyways, you never know what you'll see around here, I swear.
Ooh AND apparently they were filming some of the X-Files movie somewhere downtown yesterday, and I was like a 2 blocks away! *headdesk* There's some sneak peek footage of it somewhere, I'll find the link and post it here if anyone is interested.
Edit: Ooh and I forgot to mention the fake construction workers standing around the fake manhole cover which had fake steam coming out of it. I know it's fake as I saw them setting it up yesterday :P. I think I found that to be funniest. lol.
Edit2: XF2 Footage can be found here
Sneak Peek. It's not fantastic as it was filmed from a bit away, but I say it still looks cool! No idea on sound, my comp at work has no speakers!
