blackhat__ has
28 Kristin Bell icons that, while being simple, are also bright and fun. I like the clarity of them and the cropping - the use of repetition and textures makes each one interesting to look at.
When I'm looking for inspiration, I'll usually look at
this iconwar of Gilmore Girls and Lost between
awakencordy and
thelake. The way they each use the image really inspires you to think differently about how you use a cap. All the icons are so different and yet so pretty.
This post of
Matthew Fox, Jake Gyllenhaal and the Oscars telecast by
mediocrechick is simple yet creative - the cropping and use of text gives each icon a certain charm, and the captions for the Oscars icons are hilarious. Worth a look!
I'm in love with these
Virgin Suicides icons and banners by
colormered_cons - the colours are so bright, yet soft and dreamy as well. Every single one draws you in with how shiny and simple it is, and the banners have amazing text. The use of white space, in particular, is incredible.
Finally,
fadedscribbles has made icons of
candy, chocolate and Heath Ledger (a winning combination). The colours in these are what I applaud - the candy is super vivid and neon bright, and the chocolate looks so delectable it makes me want to lick the screen! There is amazing useage of light spots and textures as well, especially in the Heath icons. A must see.
