Chew toys for cats

So I have a 7 month old tabby who will chew the living hell out of anything within her reach. In other words, everything. She's already eaten the plastic/rubber/whatever around the wires on two of my chargers (which were NOT plugged in, thank God). She will chew on plastic bags and paper towels and . . . pretty much anything that has the ( Read more... )

They definitely do! They're not rawhide, I would worry about the safety of that for cats. We've had luck with chew toys like these: http://www.amazon.com/Petstages-Dental-Health-Chews-pair/dp/B0009YF3KY

We also spray all wires with Bitter Apple Spray to discourage our chewer. We use this kind: http://www.amazon.com/Grannicks-Bitter-Apple-Bottle-Ounces/dp/B00028ZMEO/ref=sr_1_1?s=pet-supplies&ie=UTF8&qid=1406715744&sr=1-1&keywords=bitter+apple+spray

We've had a bit of a flare up with this behavior, I've told hubby we're going to tidy up his cables - he's a computer guy, looks like a rats nest under his desk. I've read recently that keeping the cables tied down, perhaps to the leg of the desk, it will pose a less attractive "dining" option. Good luck!

lol I have the Pet Stages ones. Er, had. They got chewed up by my vacuum.

I've heard about the bitter apple stuff & will probably buy it tomorrow once I get paid.

Don't count on the bitter apple stuff, though. I had a cat that continued to gnaw on anything I put it on, as if it wasn't even there ( ... )

P.S. I really think they just love the feeling of their teeth going through the material.

I got her some hard-ish jerky (for dogs, but I checked the ingredient list to make sure it wouldn't be toxic for her even though it's just . . . dried chicken. lol) She went nuts over that last night and couldn't figure out how to eat it for like a half hour. Got her some of those crinkly cat toy things--she loves that shit. Bought some Nature's Miracle Pet Block spray and have been spraying it on the wires & other places she shouldn't go--seems to be working.
