Advice needed for gift for young teen / Question about tags
**Apparently, I'm not supposed to ask this here. Sorry, it's been years since I read the rules for this community. Now I have a second question-Why is there a gifts tag if I'm not allowed to ask questions about them??**
One of my best friends has asked me to attend her daughter's 13th birthday party. I know J pretty well, since I have kept her several times over the years, but I'm still not sure what to get for a 12-13 year old girl (young woman?) in today's world.
She's kinda goth-esq, loves to write, loves the colors black and red, loves to play the Munchkin game(s), and loves the band Blood On The Dance Floor.
Seriously. I'm at a loss. My godkids are 4 and 8. Legos and Pokemon cards, and they're fucking thrilled.
Her mom told me she will allow J to get either her navel or her nose pierced for her birthday, but I cannot remember which. I was considering a cute piece of jewelry (Of course, I'd ask to see which she was allowing before purchasing the jewelry so I'd know what to get), but do not want to spoil the surprise if her mom hasn't told her she can have it done yet...Also, we're on a bit of a fixed budget with my not yet having a full-time job at this time, and my boyfriend providing everything that isn't paid for from savings-So I'm thinking under $30 would be good, and under $20 would be excellent, but as stated before-I DON'T EVEN KNOW WHERE TO BEGIN.
I wasn't sure what communities I would be best suited to ask for advice in, but this seemed like a good place to start.
So, uh, any advice?
