HVAC question

I'm not sure if there is another active community I can ask, but maybe you all can help!

My gas furnace has been cycling on and off in strange patterns lately, since the weather has gotten very cold (NE Ohio, hovering around 0-10F.)

When it cycles on, it blows plenty of hot air, but then will partially turn off for a few moments before re-cycling on. However, during the downtime, there is still a running noise (the blower maybe?) that stays steady until the actual furnace/flames kick back on. It will do this 2-5 times until it reaches the desired temp.

Any ideas? I've googled this, but the only similar issues have the furnace cycling completely on and completely off for a few minutes each time, whereas ours only turns COMPLETELY off for less than a second before the (what sounds like) blower kicks back in, then about 10 seconds later the furnace/flames kicks back on.

Any ideas about what's going on?

(Edited to add the following info)

HEATING TYPE: •Forced Air
FUEL TYPE: Natural Gas
EFFICIENCY: •Mid - efficiency 80-85%
MANUFACTURER: • Rheem
APPROXIMATE AGE: • 8 year(s)

EDIT: It was a dirty filter. Shame on me. :(
