So I'm being tempted by a sale on a roomba (the 650) at Canadian Tire, even though part of me is all "ahh $400 for a vaccuum...and really allison, how lazy/bourgeoisie are you???"...
I see this model tends to get good reviews, but thought I'd check in with this community anyhow. We've got a 950ish sq ft 2 bedroom apartment. We normally leave our bedroom doors closed (to keep cats out) so I guess we'd have to manually set it in those rooms, but they don't get as much traffic and aren't as messy anyway (since the cats are kept out!). Most of the apartment is hardwood, with 2 small area rugs, but we also have some cheap peel & stick tile in the kitchen and bathroom.
Right now we use a vacuum (some Eureka thing we got for like $80, it's not the greatest and probably in need of replacement since it's at least 3 years old) and sweeping, but I feel like we have to sweep twice a day to keep the floors from being totally gross (cat hair is the biggest issue of course).
I'm a little worried about the cats being freaked out by the roomba too...any experiences with that?
2 cats, one toddler, 2 adults...is the roomba a good choice for us?
