I have a recipe for cabbage soup which is completely vegetarian. The recipe says:
"Put all the vegetables in a big soup pot and cover with water. Bring to a boil over high heat, then reduce the heat to medium and boil gently for 10 minutes. Cover, reduce the heat to low, and simmer until all the vegetables are soft. Stir in the red beans, black pepper and chopped herbs - cook 10 additional minutes."
If I want to cook in a crock pot instead, what can I do? Can I just throw all the ingredients into a crockpot and let them sit?
The recipe is completely vegetarian and I'm using fresh vegetables, but canned beans. How long should I let them cook in the crock pot? I'm going to a party tonight and would like to just let it cook while I'm away.
