For the past 5 years or so, my family has done a holiday tradition that we call the "E-hat". It's been our solution to an ever-growing family full of adults who really have everything they need - buying a holiday gift for everyone (especially as new spouses or children were added) got to be stressful very quickly. So now we each draw a name from a hat. Well, the choice is randomly generated and emailed to you, which is why it's the e-hat. Then you buy a gift for your person, and only your person. It's kept the holidays easy and delightful for everyone.
This year though, the family is adding an extra twist on the e-Hat: the gift must be homemade. I am looking for ideas of really useful homemade or mostly-homemade gifts. I have no sewing, needlework, or knitting skills to speak of, but everything else is fair game. For the purpose of gathering ideas, I assume that time, money, and space are no object.
What are your favorite things that someone has made for you? What's the best thing you've ever made for someone else?
