Book recommendations?
It has taken me years, but I have finally decided that my style can be described as a basic "country chic". I live in Georgia, but only about 45 minutes west of Atlanta, so I'm not TOO far outside of the city (and whereas I love to visit Atlanta, I'd never want to LIVE there), but I'm not out in the middle of no-where either. I love that my home is an old "southern folk victorian", and was built in the early 1900's (Well, it was originally built in the 1870's, then it burned down, and was rebuilt in 1919), and has been in my family since the 1940's. I am looking for some books about "country" home decor, with a splash of contemporary tossed in occasionally to kinda express how I feel about the home, as well as highlight the home's original beauty...But, I'm not sure where to start looking. I have checked out a few on amazon, but haven't found many where the reviews were positive. I have decided to look into "The Vintage/Modern Home" by Katherine Sorrell, but am undecided which other books might help me in my pursuit to paint and decorate my home. I'm looking more for books specific to what my taste is, considering that I really don't want to waste cash buying books that will basically be irrelevant, and I'm hoping you guys might could personally recommend something?
