Bleach and towels

Jan 12, 2011 09:45

I am hunting around for some new towels, and I keep running into white towels that emphatically insist on no bleaching. I remember running into a bit of this the last time I wanted to buy towels, but it seems like it's getting worse? I like white towels (mostly for aesthetic reasons), and I like being able to keep them nice and white with bleach. I use oxyclean and the like for colored stuff, but I have honestly never been that impressed with its capacity to really keep whites white in comparison to good old fashioned bleach. So I figure I have a couple of options.

1. Hunt until I find bleach safe towels.

2. Buy the non-bleach safe towels and bleach them anyway, in flagrant disregard of manufacturers directions.

3. Buy the non-bleach safe towels and use some kind of SUPER AWESOME product that you, HD, are going to tell me about.

White towel owners, what's your experience? Got an awesome product? Bleach your unbleachable towels?
