Hi HD:
I am completely at a loss about what to do. After many months of pestering, our landlady finally decided to change drafty balcony doors, both in ours and in upstairs apartment. The contractor took one look at the outer wall and said, "um, it might be asbestos." As far as I know, handling asbestos walls requires extra caution, and the cleanup afterwards has to be extra thorough; both have to be done by sertified people. Well, we told the landlady that we have a small baby and there is no way we let the contractors touch our balcony unless she invites someone certified to inspect the walls, and then... we'll take it from there.
She didn't invite anyone. The guys started working upstairs.
However, I am freaking out: the dust is going to end up on our balcony, and the contractors are using the common areas and distributing the said dust. What should we do to eliminate the damage? Please advise. I am totally confused.
