captains log: still sick
Well, I dragged my ass out of bed today and went to work. Coughing fits and nose blowing ensued the entire day. It was misery and I didn't have time to eat anything til 3pm. I went to a medicenter at noon and the doc gave me some drugs to kill it and wrote a note for me saying "In office ill today". Oh doctors, I sort of dread how they have so much power. Like they are the modern saints or something.
Well anyways, I am feeling a bit better tonight. I went and got this script filled at Walmart tonight, and got some vegetables and stuff while waiting. My cashier was soooo slow. I waited in line for 35 minutes. It was like a SNL skit. I wasn't sure how anyone could be sooooo fucking slow. Ha. Ah well, you gotta laugh it off. Not everyone can be a genius like us. Right?
Shay passed out on the couch and was a easy transfer to bed, but hasn't peed since 2ish so I hope it doesn't end in disaster. He has a bladder of steel. I swear, he wakes up and goes hours before peeing. And he drinks a lot of water before bed as a stall tactic.
I started reading a book set in Winnipeg tonight. "My summer of amazing luck" by Miriam Toews. She wrote "A Complicated Kindness", which I read too. This book is pretty good, funny and kind of raw about a single mom living in a Manitoba housing project on welfare. Recommend it. All the Winnipeg references are really neat.
