Broken Headstone
I got a new lens yesterday. Its a canon 24mm f2.8, which on my camera because of the crop it ends up being more of a 38mm lens. Which makes it not as wide as on a full frame, but still a wide angle lens. I went to test this at Mount Hope Cemetery in Lambertville, NJ (which is across the river from New Hope, PA). It is a great place to take photos as it is located on a Hill looking over the Delaware River, and you can get great views of sunsets from here. It is also a very old cemetery, it seems there are people buried here from the early 1800s, it seems mostly Irish at the time, but with being old a lot of the gravestones have been damaged and vandalized like the one above.
Sunset on Mulroony
I like this one because of the contrast between the dark gravestone and the yellow sky of the sunset, gives an interesting feeling to the photo.
Twin Towers
I thought these two grave markers were interesting, mainly because of how they towered over all the the other gravestones around them.
Mausoleum
I really liked the way the setting sun was hitting this mausoleum. Gave it a pinkish look.
Family
This one made me sad, as it seemed like a whole family was here, although this may not be since the small stones are facing the other direction. Its also interesting how the snow seems to melt around the gravestones, don't worry, this is not a sign of a zombie invasion. It is because the sun hits the dark stones and heat is absorbed through the stone and into the ground around it (yay meteorology 101!)
You cans see more photos from this trip here Enjoy! and give me some feedback!
