The festival is in a few days, isn't it? I'm very excited. Hopefully I'll be able to see the shrine maiden this year. I wasn't able to the previous years because I was in the hospital, but they finally let me come to Hinamizawa for the week so I'll certainly try to see her.

I'd hate to miss the festival. It's one of the best times of the year.

I've only saw it when I was a little girl, so I can't remember how fun it was. Hopefully this year I'll able to enjoy it as much as I can.

You should. There's a lot going on, even if people complain about how boring it is.

I'm only allowed to be in certain parts of the village during it, I'm afraid. I do wish I'll be able to take part in something fun!

Even if you missed it last year, I can promise you it'll be the exact same thing as it always is.

Oh I wouldn't say that. Every year something new happens. It's just a matter of waiting.

If you say so. In any case, the cotton thing better wash away all of the bad fishing so far. Jeez.

Maybe the water will soak all your bad luck! One can only hope, right? I'm sure you'll have much better luck after the festival.

Ah, what's the shrine maiden like? Do you know?

I don't, I'm afraid. Each year is different I've heard. They're very beautiful, though.

Hmmm, I suppose so.

You mentioned you were ill all these past times?

Yes, I have been. Because of that, my mother's sent me to the hospital in Okonomiya.

I'm surprised you're more interested in the shrine maiden rather than the murder scandals.

Murder scandals.. ?

Oyashiro-sama's Curse, the brutal killing of one or two people each year at the festival. Don't tell me you're truly ignorant of all this?

Well I have been in the hospital for a while, so I really wouldn't know...

It seems that way! I am not certain if I shall still be here once it arrives, but if I am, I hope to have a look around.

May I ask what a "hospital" is?
