So uhhh, how it goes? I think this piece is going to be about the shittiness of sleep deprivation, and it will explore the tragedies of not getting enough sleep. Gosh, talk about repetitive - maybe I haven't gotten enough sleep lately. Okay here, lets start wih an anecdote ( Read more... )

awww, Stephen fried his Stat test? that's too bad. now if Stephen FRIED his stat test...let's look at how Vidya did. Oh wait....if you count 45 out of 50 as FRIED, then what the hell is everything lower, such as the score Vidya got?

ohh and awww, let's pity stephen some more. He has an IQ equal to the density of air? How sad. y'know, maybe he feels that way because for some reason he had to have a PHYSICS problem explained to him by Vidya, who is really not as smart as Stephen and who never usually, i mean NEVER, understands physics problems, let alone ANY problems Stephen doesn't get, and who maybe understands that Stephen was just sleep-deprived and having issues.

so Vidya is VERY sorry that she hurt Stephen's pride so much.

What's really sad is that Stephen knows that he is ABOVE "normal" and is actually talented, yet for some reason likes to refer to himself just "average."

hmmm, I wonder why...because all the entries like this result in comments either like "Oh Stephen, you're so amazing, you're my hero, I wish I could be just like you," or "Stephen, what the hell's your problem, everyone else is so much worse off than you are."

In conclusion, I am not saying you should boast or flaunt your ego by referring to yourself as talented or above average or exception. But, honestly, you cannot be characterized by the words "normal" or "average". And characterizing yourself as such makes it seem as though you are either aiming to receive pity (which is completely undeserved), or that you are looking for people to compliment your accomplishments by trying to appear humble by characterizing yourself as less than what you are.

So yeah...I pity you because you were/are sleep-deprived, but so are a lot of people. But for everything else, i.e., your "low" stat grade, etc. you really deserve no pity, whatsoever. And you know I would be the last person to give you any.

I don't want you to think that this whole essay I wrote for you means I hate you, because I don't. wow, and i like how I dropped the whole "third person" thing in the middle of this.

but yeah...no hatin'...you know I still love you, hin chung. lol

1. Vidya is at least as smart as Stephen, no one can lie about that.
2. When Stephen says that his IQ is that of a pigeon, it does not mean his pride hurts.
3. No one said that other people weren't sleep-deprived; Stephen was merely showing how sad things become for those who are sleep-deprived.
4. Stephen doesn't need anyone's pity, compliments, or anything. He just says things the way he feels, and tries to give people the credit they deserve (most of the time). It's the other person's choice to write something that compliments or pities stephen, he is definitely not asking for it.
5. (just because 4 is a bad number in Chinese) If Vidya so loves stephen, why won't she go out with him? LOL.

peace out, yo.
