Valentine's Day has been a suprisingly good day for me this year. Valentine's Day, in general, tends to be a pretty lame holiday that causes more stress than it's usually worth. But what made it different this year was that this time, I was prepared. I actually made dinner reservations this year. Yep. No driving around Orlando all evening. No getting turned away from every decent restaurant in the city. Nope. I called ahead. And as a reward for my preparation, Crissy and I were promptly seated this afternoon around 5:30 at one of Orlando's most overpriced restaurants. The food was good, the service wasn't...I don't think the waiter took us seriously. But regardless, my Valentine's day was excellent. I was able to enjoy the good company of my girlfriend for most of the day. Early on, we went out to breakfast at Perkins, and had pancakes(me)and eggs (Crissy). At night, after dinner, we ate Carvel icecream cake and we watched some of the new Old 97's DVD.
Oh yeah, and another thing that has kept me in a good mood for most of today: Wilco tomorrow at the House of Blues. I'm pretty excited about that.
So what else is going on that's worth noting? Well, I reached a culinary turning point in my life the other day. I made myself bruschetta for the first time, and in the same day I also tried my very first Toblerone. Also, with Zach's help, I rediscovered grilled cheese sandwiches, which I have been both grilling and eating regularly for the past several days.
Well, that's all for now. School wears me out. I woke up at 7:30 this morning. I have two tests this week to get ready for. I need more sleep. Goodnight everyone. Happy Valenti...wait. Valentine's day is pretty much over. Have a happy February 15th everybody.
