in a half-assed effort to cover the third resolution in my survey from the previous updated (answer 2c), here's what i've been up to:
ONE
i tried to get a three for one here. started out at uncle benji's to show my wonderful cousin tiff some love. meanwhile, in san diego, kuya pogz & jas were all alone, so the BCF trio drove through the night to rb to make it for the countdown. it was nice and intimate at midnight, and i can't remember counting down with so few people ever. while drunk dialing tony, i discovered that he was on his way to rick's and being the kind and loyal friend he is, he picked me up too.
i was a little tipsy upon arrival to ricks, but it was fun surprising everyone. i don't know what got people more excited, seeing me or the fact that i was wearing a chargers helmet (thanks katalicious!) the party was way crackin, good job rick!
big jus was jesus-like enough to pick me up and take me back to kuya pogz's, where kuya virg cooked breakfast.
back in la, i had a subway sandwich to get my resolution going and 24'd it for the rest of the night.
TWO
back to work. things were busier the first week of 2007 since everyone was getting back. i got back to the apartment later than gordon every night. i NEVER get home from work later than gordon. whats up with that?
i tried to go to the gym but it was closed. so i took an emo walk around campus. just me, the buildings, and a full moon. it was winter break still and late at night, so i had never seen the campus that quiet. i walked all the way down bruin walk and passed no one. i tried to touch the water in the toilet fountain since i never did that after graduating (it's a tradition to touch the water only twice, once as a entering freshman and again after you've graduated), but the damn water wasn't flowing. way to ruin a key moment in my transition from college to the real world, ucla facilities management!
THREE
at work i was reading justin's journal and i was starting to miss winter break (er the 6 days i had off). at lunch me and g headed to baja fresh, and thank the lord i ran into justin and kristie there. it wasn't much of a coincidence since justin's always visiting kristie in the area, but it was a breath of fresh air (i like using this metaphor lately). how fresh was that breath of air? baja fresh. stuuuupid.
i did, however, get one morale booster at work. sony home entertainment sent me a gift box with five of their latest dvd's, including da vinci code and click. but most importantly, i got talladega nights!! woohoo! shake and bake!!!!!
hot pot with saxon. thanks ha ly and allen for reminding me why i love the chinese culture so much. not only is your people's food good, but you think of cool and exciting chinese ancient ways to cook it.
me and my honey bunches of oats ended the night with some chris rock never scared. if i were you, i would diversify my portfolioooo. thanks big jus!
FOUR
finally got to go to the gym on a day that it was open. workin on that weight loss....
FIVE
made it to the gym again. now both my ankles are sore. but i figured that i'm reaching an age where i will biologically and physically be unable to play sports as frequently as i want, so i might as well play sore and swollen until i literally can't play anymore.
24 til 4am. mr. bauer you never disappoint!
SIX
i had the privilege of watching leo and charisse's son get baptized. leo looked so proud. it's amazing how much some of us have grown up already.
after a disappointing colts-chiefs game, i fell asleep. then i caught katalicious up on the legacy of jack bauer and we watched 24 til our eyes couldn't stay open.
SEVEN
the two of us went shopping and on a day when she was supposed to be buying something, i'm the one who ended up with more bags. doh!
finally finished 24 season 5. well worth the money and i hope i can keep up with it on tv this time.
EIGHT
work was slower because my supervisor is in new york for the week. wish she took me with her. i don't expect much work to be sent my way, so i'm trying to take initiative in organizing my work to do my job better.
what a shitty bcs game. i never hated on the bcs system too bad, but games like tonight's make me wonder if a playoff system would have produced a better championship game. even if the playoffs ended in a blowout, we'd know for sure who the supreme undisputed champ was. oh well, could just be mad cause i am disgusted with the university of florida. ncaa basketball and football within 10 months?? this jealous bruin is officially drinking haterade only now.
at the gym i saw aaron afflalo and luc richard mbah a moute playing ping pong. alfred aboya was watching and laughing. add that to the list of Shit I Least Expected to See on a Monday Night.
on deck for the weekend: i want to buy a new bed, and i think my family may be visiting some relatives.
CONGRATULATIONS
to katty the new auntie!
to ate irma and white justin! another niece! yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay!
ENDING THOUGHTS
jamil summed up my charger sentiments for the week: "man when i get sleepy at work, i think of the chargers playoff game and the nervousness wakes me up"
i'm not sad about ucla basketball dropping one to oregon. tough losses to good teams only build character for march.
word of the week definitely goes to marcus mcniell during his january 4th press conference (on chargers.com). this man called his votes for rookie of the year a great "accompliment." hah! the funny thing is i find him very articulate and intelligent for a rookie in the nfl, aside from that superword.
fuck it i'm done. good thing "sleeping earlier" isn't on my list of resolutions.
Happy Week Old Year, Bitches!
