2010 Legendary Awards -- We're ba-ack!
We’ve been on hiatus for a while, but we’re coming back with a vengeance.
That’s right, we are pleased to announce the HIMYM Legendary Awards are returning for 2010!
Here’s a refresher on how this is going to work.
You, that’s right, YOU get to nominate your favorite fics from the past year and a half, and then the fandom as a whole will vote on them in the beginning of the new year.
We are accepting nominations in the following categories:
General:
- Most Creative Use of Story Structure
- Best AU
- Best Crossover
- Best Episode Follow-Up
- Best General
- Best Humor
- Best Angst
- Best Dark
- Best Smut
- Best Het
- Best Slash
- Best Romance
- Best Drabble (500 words or less)
- Best Long/Multichapter (5+ parts or more than 10,000 words)
- Best Work-in-Progress
Character-Specific:
- Best Ted
- Best Marshall
- Best Lily
- Best Barney
- Best Robin
- Best Minor Character
If you have a nomination that does not fit into any of the above categories, you can suggest your own.
Honorable mentions are also accepted (anything that does not fit into any of the above categories but still relates to fanfiction).
Nomination guidelines:
1. The story must have been posted (to LiveJournal, Fanfiction.net, Yuletide, or elsewhere) between July 1, 2009 and December 31, 2010.
2. Put your nominations in a comment on this entry. Comments will be screened for privacy.
3. Please include the fic title, the categories you want to nominate it under, the author's name, and a link to the story in your nomination.
4. Nominate as many fics as you want, in as many categories as you want.
5. Please don’t nominate your own fics.
6. Deadline for nominations: January 1, 2011.
Nominations will be linked to in THIS POST as they come in. Please bookmark it and check it regularly!
In addition, I am looking for one or two co-mods to help me run this contest. There is no prior mod experience needed, and while basic HTML knowledge is nice it’s not required either. So if you love HIMYM, are reliable and organized, and looking for some way to get more involved in this awesome fandom of ours, please let me know!
