Brushes

Some of my Chinese brushes, which I have come to use more and more frequently in lieu of my 'regular' brushes.  Some ink (very good quality pine soot, purchased at Guanghwa in London's Chinatown) had been ground up on the inkstone.

That's very strongly brewed black tea in the dish.  I had covered the dish and put in the refrigerator for a while shortly before this picture was taken, to cool it down.  It emerged looking as it does here -- as though milk had been added to it, even though none was.  I had prepared it in the hope of staining some paper with it, but after trying it out on the work and finding it unsuitable for that particular piece, it was put aside.
