Back to the OC

Sloofing around on a blustery Friday afternoon and watching VH1’s “Top 40 Awesomely Bad #1 Songs… Ever”. Ah, keep your reality TV shows and teen dramas-I’ll be bemusedly hanging my head in shame because I, too, once knew all the words to “Ice Ice Baby” and danced the Macarena.

Dug out my digi-cam and unloaded some pictures, so instead of actually writing, I’ll just post some here:

First, we actually got a cold spell in Irvine, CA.

But, the cold didn’t always keep the clothes on:

Then I got sick and didn’t do much beyond studying for two weeks or so. Until I noticed something in the shower… half of a *footprint* in the soap-scum. Ew. Took picture and then Yvonne eradicated the footprint while I tackled the floor.

More exams, still sick, I bought that poinsettia I wanted and Yvonne and I threw a Christmas Party. Too much work, but v. fun:

This launched me into a non-stop week of Christmas parties/events/outings, etc. I then proceeded to pack up and drive out to my home in San Francisco. Thought I was gonna die when the lights went out and was engulfed in fog, but evidentally did not die. Went to lovely Poipu beach on Kaua’i, and it poured rain for probably 8 of 10 days. Still had a v. relaxing and enjoyable Christmas with family.

Flew home on New Year’s Eve in time for Gary’s Party! Well, made it 20 minutes late for countdown to the New Year… I like Rey-Rey’s account way better than anything I can write.

Then, saw an absolutely stunning sight while driving home (which took 8 hours btw… Irvine is further than Claremont) SNOW in LA. (in the mountains, but still) Took a pic and made a snowball while getting gas.

What happens to a poinsettia that doesn’t get water for two weeks:

Then, finally got my goldfishie, who still enjoys playing dead, back from Tashi and life is as normal again.

Happy New Year 2005 to all
