It’s All Tears

Chapter One

Rushing out the door, I shoved my key in the lock and took off to my car. I threw my plaid purse in the passenger seat before starting her up. My heart was beating against my chest. I couldn’t wait for the show tonight. I’ve been to countless shows. Being that my band played there a lot, I knew a lot of the staff at the club, which could pay off tonight. I hoped.

I stopped in front of the house just a couple blocks down from mine. Gage ran down the driveway in his socks, carrying a duffle bag and his platform boots. He was a question mark to most people, but he is one of my best friends. I’ve known him since I was in grade school. I remember watching as the other boys threw rocks at him in the middle of the playground just because he was different. It wasn’t until our freshmen year in high school that he told me he was homosexual. He was the bassist in my band.

"Is your bitch Clyde coming?" I asked as he tossed my purse to the floor of the car and hopped in.

"No, he has to work." He answered, closing the door. Gage was an average height, fairly skinny, and has shoulder length blonde hair that has blue tips in the front.

"So, it’s just you and I." I smiled. I couldn’t remember the last time it was just he and I at a show.

He shoved his boots on, before taking a look at me. "Damn, Ly-Ly, the pink and black looks sick. It turned out awesome. It makes your eyes look florescent green." He shook his head, "I should make you pay me for doing your hair so damn much."

I laughed, "Like that’ll ever happen."

It was only five o’clock when we reached the club. I parked in my reserved parking spot I had set up weeks ago, just behind the club. Fixing my bangs in the rear-view mirror I asked, "Do I look ok?"

"Damn sexy, babe." He said opening his door.

I stepped out of the car, putting on my sunglasses. I wore my converse as always, along with a pair of tight black jeans and a white and black striped tank top.

He threw his arm around my neck as we made our way along the line, stopping to great familiars at the club that knew of my band. All the way to the front we went, stopping just before Tony, who was on guard duty.

"Just as expected . . . Evening, Ly-Ly." Tony’s heavy voice roared. He was large man, and his baldhead reflected the hot October sun.

I smiled, "Of course, babe."

He blushed, as always. "Don’t start trouble this time." He said before opening the gate to let me in.

I laughed, "Then don’t let anyone grab my tit this time, babe." I yelled as I was already in the courtyard.

Alex stood just by the door to the club, smoking a cigarette. He was younger than more of the staff, and the only one that knew my real name. "Hey, Lyla." He said waving. "Gage, what’s up?" He asked, giving Gage his manly handshake. "Nice playing the other night, dude."

The door closed behind us as we made our way straight to the bar. The place full of security and crews finishing up a last minute setting up.

"Jimmy!" I yelled, as we sat on a stool.

The tall man behind the counter turned around, throwing up his arms, "Ly-Ly!" He reached for a hug over the counter as best he could. Jimmy was gorgeous, with very long dark-brown hair that went half way down his back. He was tan and thin. I had a tiny crush on him, but it was useless since he was Gage’s ex. "How’ve you been, girly?" He said, handing me a beer.

"What? No hello to me you dick?" Gage interrupted.

I looked at Gage, "Don’t start, babe."

Jimmy merely glanced at Gage and back to me. "So when’s the next DTS’s show?"

"What’s DTS?" A dark foreign voice asked, as it sat on the stool to my left.

I turned to look who it was, before my mouth flew open. "Holy-shit"

The Finnish beauty smiled, "Evening. You must be… I forgot the name. I saw the photos in the back, and this young man here speaks very highly of you." He said reaching his hand out, after pointing to Jimmy.

"Ly-Ly." I laughed, shaking his hand, totally blushing. He was even more stunning in person, I thought to myself.

"I’m Ville, although judging by the tattoo on your back, you already know that." He laughed, before adding, "Ly-Ly. That must be short for something?"

Jimmy and Gage laughed, knowing it was a long shot to ask me that. They quickly grew their own conversation.

I half-smiled before I added, "Not many know what that is."

Ville’s eyebrows went north, "Why is that?"

"I have my reasons."

"Very well." Ville nodded his head. "So, you haven’t answered my question yet."

I smiled, "You have asked a number of questions, which one?"

"What is DTS? I see it all over the walls here. I gather it’s a band. Is it yours?

I nodded, "Yes, well it’s not mine, but yes." I answered, before pointing to the tattoo on the side of my neck. It was a star with a tear halfway down the middle. "Destroy the Star."

"Interesting." He replied, before putting his cigarette out in the ashtray on the counter. "Well, it was a pleasure meeting you. I presume I will see you after the show." He winked before walking off and disappearing among the crew scattered about.

bam margera, it's all tears, ville valo
