summary: minseok calls dibs on the new boy
a/n: once upon a time i was properly ashamed of writing my bias in cotton thongs

Lunch, and Wufan has to sit with Luhan because Wufan always has to sit with the new Chinese exchange students for the first quarter of the year. The rest of the student council usually joins too, which is why Minseok watches Jongdae and Junmyeon taking their seats at the table Wufan and Luhan have already occupied. She’s standing in the lunch line, lips pursed thoughtfully as she accepts the last scoop of food into the remaining empty spot on her tray.

Tiny arms and a tiny body collide into her back, but Minseok doesn’t spill even a drop of soup. She blinks, and turns her head to look into curious eyes lined with thick brushes of eyeliner. “Unnie,” Baekhyun says, following Minseok’s previous line of sight. The younger girl wraps her arms around Minseok’s waist. “Oh-he’s pretty, unnie.”

“Dibs,” is all Minseok says, before she breaks out of Baekhyun’s hold and begins walking towards the student council table.

But Baekhyun catches her by the wrist. “No, it’s the first day,” Baekhyun pouts. “Sit with us.” And Minseok blinks, glancing at where the cheerleading squad is promptly eating their non-lunch (i.e. picking out everything that isn’t a leafy side dish). “There’s a first year girl I’m trying to recruit,” Baekhyun whispers, and Minseok supposes that would explain why several of the cheerleaders were leaning over the table trying to eagerly engage a girl with a solemn expression into conversation.

“She’s hot,” Minseok remarks mildly.

Baekhyun sighs. “I know.” She loops her arm through Minseok’s. “C’mon.”

Wufan is the tallest boy in their year, in the school, and Minseok remembers when they met on the first day of high school. He was attractive and awkward and he towers and looms over her even more than other boys. And she tried unsuccessfully for two months to have his huge hands pressed around her thighs, picking her up and tossing her over the teacher’s desk after school hours when everyone else has left. At one point, sometime around when Minseok had bent clean over in front of him with no underwear on beneath her skirt at all and still Wufan was stony-faced, Minseok nearly concluded that he must be impotent.

In the end, she supposed that she’s just not Wu Yifan’s type of girl and, since then, has been determined to fondly be the affectionate thorn in his side.

So it doesn’t surprise her very much at all when he catches Minseok’s arm on the way back to class.

“What if I begged you,” he says, “to be nice to Luhan?”

Minseok smiles brightly. “You don’t have to beg. I’m going to be really nice to him.” And he hasn’t let go of her arm, which means they’re close enough that when Minseok shimmies her hips for emphasis of how nice she’s going to be to Luhan, her breasts brush against Wufan’s side.

Wufan looks like he might vomit up his lunch as he lets go of Minseok.

Minseok decides that she wants Luhan when she sees him standing with Wufan in front of the classroom door, dazed but determinedly listening to every word Wufan grinds out in Mandarin about classes and schedules. He’s not the kind of boy Minseok usually wants-he’s not tall, he’s not broad, his voice isn’t deep, he doesn’t have the sort of hands that Minseok imagines easily covering the span of her waist, bruising her pale hips against the wall of an empty hallway while they ditch fifth period.

Instead, she imagines his round eyes, as pretty as hers, widening when she wraps her calves around his waist. She imagines cupping his childlike face in her small hands and kissing soft, thin lips and maybe he’ll surprise her. Maybe he’ll push his tongue into her mouth and have her panting and sighing against him, his leg pressed up into an aching wet spot between her thighs. She imagines his hands to be strong where they aren’t large-hoisting her into the air, and slamming her against lockers, sure fingers pulling at the strip of cotton underneath her skirt.

It’s the end of all lessons for the day. Everyone is either outside relaxing or gathering their things in the hallway before the optional study hall starts. Most all of the third years have already left the classroom, and Minseok takes her time loitering in the hallway until Luhan is the only one still inside. She even steps aside, hiding behind a corner when Wufan leaves. He and Junmyeon head towards the student council room down the hall.

Luhan is at his desk, slowly gathering his things with a muddled expression when Minseok walks in silently. His head, she notes happily, snaps up the moment he hears her footsteps and catches her walk in out of the corner of his eye. She also notices him cough under his breath, glancing back down before he’s caught staring.

okay

When she reaches her desk, she drops her backpack off into her seat, and pretends to search in her desk for a forgotten textbook. She’s left a few loose pens out on her desk and when her hand finally retrieves a language book she doesn’t need, she pulls it out and knocks the pens down on the way. It worked so well during second period, that she wonders what would happen if she did it again at a closer proximity with no one else around.

The pens are picked up for her before she gets to bend over.

They’re placed back on her desk, and when she turns her head, she’s looking into his determinedly averted gaze. He’s standing in the same space she is now, the same tiny aisle of space between the two middle desk columns. Up close like this, she can see his long lashes, the slight stretch of his shirt over his surprisingly wide chest. His thin shoulders.

“Thanks,” she says, and offers a smile-lips closed, no gums. Not yet.

He coughs again. “No problem.” The smile he returns to her is a little awkward, earnest.

She turns around first, breaking the gaze, and before he can head back to his own desk-before he can turn around himself-she presses back against him. She collides into him with enough initial force that she’ll be able to excuse it as clumsiness, but once she’s up against his body, she arches her back enough that the squirming makes her skirt ride up. He’s frozen behind her and she rubs down on him until the friction of his linen uniform khakis against the bare skin of her ass causes heat to start gathering between her legs.

She only stops when his breath hitches and she feels hardness poking back into her. His body still hasn’t moved, but she catches sight of his hands itching up towards her hips. Minseok draws away before he can touch her.

“I’m sorry!” she says, the back of her hand covering her mouth in perfect mortification. She bows a full ninety degrees, and shyly avoids his eyes while she slides her backpack back on.

Luhan’s mouth is opening and closing soundlessly, eyebrows furrowed and eyes blinking rapidly.

“See you tomorrow!” she chirps, bowing again another full ninety degrees, before she twirls-just the right speed to make her skirt lift in front of him-and walks lightly out of the classroom.
