In Search of The Finish Line

OK, I am back. Man have i been busy. I got back from tanglewood just in time to move. As in, from one house to another one. We have been having a lot of trouble paying rent so we downsized into a two bedroom, two-story townhouse from a three bedroom, two story house. It was a big change to say the least. Anyway, with the substantial reduction in size, we had to get rid of everything that we were not going to need within the next year. Everything. Now, my mother is a pack-rat. She keeps everything. We had stuff in the basement that we had taken with us from a good ten years ago, as well as everything accumulated in between moves. So what we had is the entire bottom story of our house, which is the basement, as a ginormous storage shed for everything. So in order to move, we had to go through all of that stuff to find out exactly what we were going to need.

After going through everything and deciding what stayed and what kept, we threw out literally four and a half TONS of family memories and trash. That is a lot of trash. And then we had to move. Actually moving included: repainting the new house, putting new tiles down on the kitchen floor, setting up shelves in my room, moving all of the things that we were keeping from the old house to the new one (including a baby-grand piano), taking everything that did not fit into the new house and moving into a five-by-ten storage shed which costs 82 dollars a month, setting up all of the furniture, setting up our individual rooms, putting away everything else, sweeping out the old house of any remains, and putting a new gate up in the back yard.

Fun, but necessary. In that amount of time, the cat has also run away from the new house, which would not benearly so tragic had it not been for the fact that the cat was unable to find his way back to the new place. Mainly because it was NEW. He has been gone for a full week now. I cannot imagine that he is still alive, unless somebody stole him, in which case we are still never going to see him again.

And the dish-washer does not work, and the toilets have issues, the front door opens of its own accord, and the shelving that we put up in my room collapsed yesterday. I still have yet to sift through the rubble and remove it to a location where i can get to setting up a new closet system that will hopefully be more stable than the last, which as you know, collapsed.

Oh and did i mention that school started today. Yes, i am currently attending my first day of school for fall semester here. The books for just half of my classes came to $300. It cost me an arm and a leg. Literally true once the Mafia realizes that i have no way of paying them back.

"No rest for the weary" i always say, as opposed to "no rest for the wicked". I think that mine makes more sense. After all, if you could rest, then you would not be weary would you?

Ok, i believe that this is all for now. I will post again soon enough.
