Ivy  by Carson ^o^

I found an error in your small eyes

but when I look closer

it’s not an error,

it feels like nymph’s pupils

which dares me to lose myself

my best friend you have come to be.

The poison Ivy

no gardener would be cruel enough

to cut you away.

You’re right and I’m wrong again.

That’s meant to be,

you said twice

with your voice echoing

up and down

with my breathe.

Because you will be the girl who always talks funny

weird and eccentric

and makes me laugh until my stomach aches.

I would find it funny

when you missed the train you waited for your whole damn life

but today’s the last day of leaving

so I will help it pass

by telling you to go

instead of hugging you

to stay.

Because you will always be

Ivy

--the plant that grows

around us.
