Signs that your Mexican restaurant does not deserve to be labeled Mexican:
1. The title isn't Spanish
2. The cook(s) are not of Latin American decent. And no, Puerto Rico does not count.
3. The salsa tastes ever so slightly like marinara sauce.
4. You think salsa and pico de gallo are the same and you don't offer both.
5. The cheese you use is cheddar.
5. Tostitos are better than the chips you serve.
6. Your chips aren't cooked daily.
7. You're salsa verde is made without jalapeños or worse, you have no idea what salsa verde is.
8. You use black beans instead of pinto.
9. Your rice is white and does not include seasoning.
10. Your chicken is that disgusting "water added" stuff.
And finally, in order to be labeled a Mexican restaurant your menu must include enchiladas, chimichangas, chalupas, huevos rancheros, and quesadillas as well as the burritos and nachos most places offer.
