When it rains, it snows.
So, about a week after the orange brown rabbit, what should I find but a diesel Scirocco. This is what they call a unicorn. Something so mind-boggling rare and suited to one's interests that searching for one is like finding a unicorn. Oh, and did I mention it's only $700? And that it runs and is almost entirely free of rust? And has A/C? And only $700? I manage to get an email off within a half hour of the guy posting. I don't know how many other people found the ad, but before the afternoon is out he has pulled the ad. The tells me that his son (who learned to drive in the car) freaked when he learned it was for sale. I'm not sure a deal this good will ever come again and it's tearing me up that it might be slipping through my fingers. If Charlotte's B'day weren't coming up, I'd likely have driven up to Dallas and seen if I could negotiate directly.
